Review: The Last Shot

The Last Shot The Last Shot by Sara Hubbard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Annie had thought she picked up the pieces of her life. Abandoned by her mother and living in foster homes until her grandmother took her in. Becoming a nurse, dating a doctor, life was on track. Until the younger brother of her first true love Ethan ends up as her patient. Ethan and Manny had a great childhood until the death of their mother. Their father turned into a abusive drunk. Ethan and Annie became best friends then a couple. When Ethan was offered a contact to play professional hockey he wanted Annie to go but she broke up with him instead and stayed behind. She figured he was better living his life without her tagging along. Now the past is back.

A second chance romance. When those feelings have never went away and you are living life the best way you know how. Ethan dealt with anger issues and has never returned home. Doing is best to forget about Annie. They have quite a few issues to work through to get back to where they once were. Family issues, a doctor who isn't all he seems on the outside. A great book full of emotions. You find yourself laughing and crying. I received and arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
